A pared back palette was selected by Baldasso Cortese for St James Primary School's new development and centres around the notion of ‘openness’; to enable students to learn and collaborate whilst also enhancing wellbeing in educational spaces.
Through Baldasso Cortese's clever design of going up and over, the school were able to overcome the constraints of the public laneway and create a space that was both flexible and welcoming. By creating breakout zones that varied in size, shape and location, we were able to accommodate varying levels of complexity and allow for a variety of learning styles.
